Searching for the Missed Mystery of Life: The Living Axis

Artist’s Note:

This drawing belongs to a period when I became increasingly interested in understanding the relationship between the human body and the larger universe.

Rather than thinking of the body as a closed biological form, I began imagining it as part of an invisible network that continuously exchanges energy, memory, and experience with nature.

The branching structure emerging from the body represents neither a tree nor a nervous system alone. It exists somewhere between the two, suggesting that consciousness itself may grow like roots spreading through unseen soil.

The repetitive process of making thousands of dots and fine lines gradually became a contemplative practice. Through sustained physical repetition, I discovered that drawing could transform my own awareness. For this reason, I often feel that the process of making an artwork carries equal, and sometimes greater, significance than the completed image.

Throughout my work, the moon and celestial space remain recurring symbols of the subtle rhythms connecting human life with the wider cosmos. They are not scientific diagrams but visual expressions of my lived experience of interconnected existence.
