Description

Searching for the Missed Mystery of Life XI: Constellation of Consciousness is a symbolic acrylic painting that continues Abu Naser Robii’s long-term investigation into the invisible relationships connecting humanity, nature, memory, and the cosmos. Created in 2021, the work unfolds as a visual map where multiple systems of existence coexist within a single metaphysical landscape.

Against a deep black background resembling infinite space, the composition is woven together by branching white lines that evoke tree roots, neural pathways, rivers, and constellations simultaneously. Human profiles emerge from opposite sides of the painting, connected by flowing bands of colour that suggest energy, memory, communication, and shared consciousness rather than physical distance.

Throughout the composition, recurring symbols appear: crescent moons, flowering plants, stars, root systems, celestial diagrams, luminous human figures, and organic structures. These elements are not presented as isolated icons but as interconnected components of one living system. The painting proposes that human existence cannot be understood separately from ecological, cosmic, and spiritual relationships.

The luminous human figures suspended among the branches suggest moments of transformation or states of awareness rather than identifiable individuals. Their quiet presence creates a contemplative rhythm, inviting viewers to reflect upon the invisible dimensions of existence that extend beyond ordinary perception.

Rather than offering a fixed narrative, the painting functions as an open philosophical diagram in which science, mythology, ecology, spirituality, and lived experience coexist without hierarchy. It invites viewers to move through the composition slowly, discovering new symbolic relationships with each encounter.

Searching for the Missed Mystery of Life XI: Constellation of Consciousness

Artist’s Note

Many of my paintings begin with a question rather than an image.

I have long been interested in how invisible systems connect human beings with nature and the universe. Sometimes these systems resemble tree roots, sometimes neural networks, rivers, constellations, or memories. Although they appear different, I believe they may describe the same underlying relationship from different perspectives.

This painting was created intuitively. I did not follow a predetermined composition. Instead, each symbol gradually revealed itself as the work evolved. The branches became pathways, the stars became moments of awareness, and the human figures appeared like travellers moving through different states of consciousness.

For me, painting is a process of searching rather than explaining. Every completed work remains an unfinished question.

Series Note

Searching for the Missed Mystery of Life

This long-term interdisciplinary series investigates the unseen structures that shape human existence. Through painting, drawing, printmaking, and performance, the works explore recurring themes including consciousness, cosmology, ecology, duality, mythology, memory, morality, and the relationship between the human body and the living universe.

Rather than illustrating philosophical concepts, the series develops a symbolic visual language through which viewers are invited to construct their own interpretations while contemplating the interconnected nature of life.

Curatorial Note

In this painting, Robii constructs what may be understood as a symbolic cosmology. Botanical growth, celestial space, human consciousness, and ecological systems are treated as parallel structures rather than separate realities. Branches resemble neural pathways, constellations become diagrams of thought, and rivers transform into streams of consciousness.

The work does not privilege scientific, spiritual, or mythological explanations. Instead, it proposes that multiple ways of understanding existence can coexist within a single visual field. This openness reflects the artist’s broader practice, where painting and performance function as complementary methods of philosophical inquiry.
