Artist’s Statement
In many of my works, nature is not a background but a living participant in human existence.
The leaf in this print represents more than a botanical object. It symbolizes the enduring memory carried by nature itself. Human beings may appear separate, yet we continue to emerge from the same invisible processes that shape trees, rivers, seasons, and stars.
The three figures are not portraits. They are different states of one consciousness, reminding us that identity is layered rather than fixed.
The silence within this composition is intentional. I wanted the viewer to experience the work almost as a pause for meditation, where the simplest forms reveal deeper relationships.
Historical Context
This print belongs to the artist’s 2010 linocut series, developed during an important phase of symbolic experimentation.
During the same period, Abu Naser Robii produced a monumental 3.5 × 7 ft linocut, two versions of which received the Best Printmaking Award at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Biennale Young Artists Exhibition. One impression is now preserved in the Grameenphone Corporate Art Collection, Bangladesh.
